They Live(Last show under this moniker), Champagne Champagne, Wild Orchid Children @ High Dive | 01/29 | $8 at the door

THEY LIVE decided to change their name to MASH HALL, and there is going to be a show on 01/29 to commemorate the official change. Does this name change mean anything? Not really. Will this name change bare any lasting significance? Absolutely not. Will Gatsby and Bruce Illest still be playing the same bat-songs on the same bat-channel? Yes! Who cares? Let’s party! Scream “F*** THEY LIVE” at the top of your lungs, make your way to High Dive on Friday night, and party like it’s 2010 and it’s a really big freaking deal that They Live is now going by the moniker MASH HALL.

Just in: High Dive thinks it is a big freaking deal that They Live changed their name to MASH HALL! In honor this momentous occasion, they are offering two free tickets to an SSG reader! Champagne Champagne will also be on hand. Champagne Champange have been making a gruesome twosome with They Live as of late. This is good thing for the Seattle show goers. Why settle for one sweat inducing, endorphin rising, party-rap act when you can have two? Plus, Champagne Champagne have been known to roll with THEE Satisfaction bringing on that “Magnetic Blackness.” If all of that magnetic blackness finds itself under the High Dive roof, it’s liable to blow off. It would be worth showing up just to see that.

Another reason to show up is the fact that Champagne Champange have been working on some new music. SSG hasn’t been given the green light to put it on blast yet, but just know that it is some of the filthiest, sickest, thickest, sexiest hip-hop I’ve heard in a hot minute, and hands down the sickest thing to roll out thus far in 2010. Show up if you want to have the best night of your life. And show up early; High Dive is tight space for such a big show.

Wild Orchid Children, strangely enough,  will also be on hand to start the party off. Jason Friendt of Seattle Show Gal has seen Wild Orchid Children before, and he refers to the experience as being “rock-raped.” More comments from Jason Friendt were:

Kirk Huffman’s voice and stage presence immediately seemed to capture the crowds attention. At certain parts of the set, there were sounds reminiscent of At The Drive-In,  The Blood Brothers, and a bit of Deep Purple. Their music took the crowd on a journey of twists and turns leaving us dazzled and wanting more … much more.  Many of the people around the room were bouncing and moving to the beautiful haze; their eyes closed while clutching Rainier beers tightly as if they could possibly be slain in the spirit by the powers of Wild Orchid Children.
