Lilith Fair @ The Gorge Amphitheater | 7/3 | $33.00 – $107.00   Buy Tickets

This event will take some advance planning, but if you’re adventurous enough to book it out to The Gorge, you’ll be in for a treat!  The Lilith Fair brings together a slew of favorite female artists, both modern and classic, to celebrate women.  Many proceeds will go to charities that raise awareness for women’s issues, so your support will be for a good cause!  On the musical bill for the festival are Sarah McLaughlan, Sheryl Crow, Erykah Badu, Colbie Caillat, A Fine Frenzy, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and many more.  This is Lilith Fair’s first run in over a decade, so be sure to support it’s revival.  You won’t be sorry!  For more information, check out SSG‘s earlier preview for this festival here.

Helladope @ The Crocodile | 07/03 | 8PM | $12adv | 21+

If you’re staying local tonight and want to pre-funk before the 4th of July, come celebrate the Star Spangled Banger with some of your favorite Seattle hip-hop artists.  The headliner is Helladope, a local hip-hop duo consisting of MC Jerm of supergroup Alpha P fame, and MC/Producer Tay Sean.  Their sound is of the southern-rap influence, full of funky, futuristic beats and crisp, clever rhymes.  These guys had their self-titled debut album release in March, and have already had the honor of opening for Snoop Dogg and Goodie Mob.  Tonight, Helladope will be playing at The Croc, along with appearances by the local State of the Artist (SOTA) crew, Dark Time Sunshine, Katie Kate, and DJ Radjaw.  It’ll be an awesome night of local hip-hop talent; don’t miss out.

Satchel @ Tractor Tavern | 07/03 | 9:30PM | $10

Also playing tonight is one of Seattle’s legendary alternative rock bands Satchel.  The band was at their peak in the mid-90s, having garnered many loyal fans despite ho-hum industry support.  Satchel consists of musicians who have since contributed to other notable bands such as Malfunkshun, Brad, Pigeonhead, and Green River, demonstrating the versatility and overall musicianship of those contributing to Satchel.  After a hiatus that lasted over a decade, Satchel returned to the stage earlier this year, playing tunes off of their latest 2009 album Heartache and Honey. According to fans, Satchel’s return to the music scene has been well worth the thirteen year wait.  Whether you’re already of this mindset or curious about the hype, come be the judge by seeing Satchel live tonight.  Also on the bill are Virgin and Ton 80.
