The Sway Machinery @ Neumos | 07/20 | 9 pm | $16 In Advance

Someone once said that writing about music, is like dancing about architecture. That’s especially true when writing about bands like The Sway Machinery. You could say they play jazzy afro-beat, world infused blues, perhaps even mariachi super hero theme music. None of these would be the least bit disagreeable or in accurate. But that doesn’t mean those descriptions will help you understand exactly what it is that The Sway Machinery does. Trust me, they won’t. Fortunately, that is where video comes in really handy. Also a quick trip to their myspace will also help clear things up.
Kaylee Cole @ The Tractor | 07/20 | 9 pm | $12

Here in Seattle, we are fortunate to have a wide variety of female singer songwriters to make our lazy Summer nights a little more lovely with the sound of their voice. Kaylee Cole is definitely doing what she can to make sure this Summer does not leave us wanting for just such an evening. Tonight she will be telling her musical stories at the Tractor Tavern. A skillful pianist and lyricist, Cole can captivate audiences with her deeply honest presence and performances. If you are looking for something a little easier to understand than all that Sway Machinery business, it’s probably a good night to head on out to Ballard.
